A pressure sensor is a device that measures the pressure of a gas or liquid. Pressure is an expression for the force required to stop the expansion of a fluid, usually expressed as force per unit area. The pressure transducer usually acts as a transducer, which generates a signal based on the applied pressure. For the purposes of this paper, such a signal is electrical.
Pressure sensing is useful in weather instruments, airplanes, automobiles, and any other machinery that implements a pressure function.
